ARB Recovery Kits (the Essentials Recovery Kit and Premium Recovery Kit) sold in Australia from January 1st, 2010 to January 13th,  2017 did not contain certain mandatory information on the cardboard packaging in which the kits were sold, in relation to the included snatch strap (or motor vehicle recovery strap).

The information not included on the packaging included:

• A recommendation that the minimum breaking strength of the snatch strap (vehicle recovery strap) should be between 2 and 3 times the gross vehicle mass (GVM) of any vehicle with which it is used.

The mandatory information is included on the snatch straps themselves and in the ARB Recovery Handbook included with every kit.

The ARB RK9 and RK11 recovery kits include an 8,000kg recovery strap. If you have purchased one of these recovery kits for your vehicle, which has a GVM outside the range of 2666kg – 4000kg, you may return the recovery kit to any ARB outlet to have the recovery strap exchanged for an appropriately rated recovery strap. If you are unsure, you can contact your local ARB branch for advice on the appropriate strap to use with your vehicle.
