Toyota Landcruiser Suspension
The Toyota LandCruiser 79 Series Dual Cab is a large utility vehicle with high levels of off road ability and load carrying capability, ideally suited to heavy duty commercial uses. During development, OME engineers focussed on improving ride comfort, at an increased ride height, whilst maintaining load carrying ability and control.
Along with a new front shock and multiple front spring options to cater for differing vehicle setups, OME engineers also developed a sway bar spacer kit to maximise shock length and down travel, as well as an upgraded steering damper to reduce steering vibration. An optional upgraded front sway bar is also available to further enhance stability on vehicles regularly carrying heavy loads. With front ride height increases of approximately 50mm, a caster correction kit, which maintains factory steering geometry, was also developed.
Rear ride height increases of approximately 50mm maintain the factory vehicle rake and a large range of rear springs, with matching shocks and greasable shackles & pins, provide multiple options depending on the intended loads to be carried. An XL leaf has also been developed to assist with fine tuning the weight carrying capacity and matching spring bush kits ensure ease of service and increased bush life.
Other options include a heavy duty rear sway bar to improve stability in heavy loading situations, and separate spring bush kit for when original shackles are retained. To maintain correct front to rear brake pressure distribution, brake proportioning brackets have also been developed.
