After conquering Victoria’s rugged High Country, we’re heading north to the ancient and awe-inspiring Flinders Ranges. Spanning over 430km, this dramatic landscape is one of the oldest mountain ranges on Earth. From striking geological formations and rich wildlife to iconic landmarks, this journey takes us deep into the heart of the outback.

Join us as we explore the Bendleby Ranges, Willow Springs, Brachina Gorge and wrap up at the legendary Prairie Hotel.

Day 1: Adelaide → Bendleby Ranges

Kick off your adventure from Adelaide and head north through Orroroo (perfect for a coffee stop and a quick grocery run at the local IGA) before reaching the stunning Bendleby Ranges, around 325km away. Be sure to book your campsite or explore accommodation options online.

ARB Tip: Don’t miss the thrill of Billy Goat Ridge, make sure you give yourself time to take it on properly!

Day 2: Bendleby Ranges → Willow Springs

Travel 177km from Bendleby Ranges through Hawker (your final stop for fuel and supplies) before arriving at Willow Springs. Be sure to book your campsite or check out local accommodation options.

ARB Tip: We’d recommend allowing a few days here in order to take on the unforgettable 7-hour Skytrek Track.

Day 3: Willow Springs → Prairie Hotel

From Willow Springs, journey 120km via the scenic Razorback Lookout and Brachina Gorge before arriving at the iconic Prairie Hotel. Book your accommodation online and treat yourself to a well-earned dinner at the hotel’s restaurant.

ARB Tip: For a true outback experience, try the famous F.M.G Feral Mixed Grill at the Prairie Hotel!

Day 4: Prairie Hotel → Nilpena Ediacara National Park → Prairie Hotel

Take a 100km return trip from the Prairie Hotel to Nilpena Ediacara National Park, where you’ll witness a 550-million-year-old fossil bed, an awe-inspiring experience not to be missed. Return to the Prairie Hotel for a relaxing night and a well-deserved meal.

ARB Tip: Photos and videos aren’t permitted during the Fossil Presentation, so take it all in while you’re there.
