How to choose an antenna

Antennas are rated in decibels relative to isotropic (or dBi), which measures the gain (or distance) the antenna will send transmissions. When choosing an antenna, the important question to consider is what sort of driving you’ll be doing.

2.1DBI Gain Antennas

Best if you’re going for a fourby in tight bushland.
A short-gain antenna will send transmissions short distances but is less likely to be obstructed by hills, buildings and bushland.

6.6DBI Gain Antennas

Best if you travel long distances via the highway or desert crossings.
A high-gain antenna will send transmissions long distances in flat terrain.
